"Cynthia Bapst’s Union of Angels brought a dark drama to the evening. In a nod to the
equestrian, without being overt, the looks were all "capable woman." A black blouse stood
out, fashioned to a pointed collar, but with sleeves ending at the elbow and poufed,
ever so slightly, to illuminate silver embroidery. Jackets were military in the shoulder’s
cut, but closures and excellent fabrics showed refined draping, which provided closure
without the expected tab, fob or ornament. Here again were closely fitted pants, some in
shorter lengths. It was the jackets, however, that could go from a weekend in Franklin to
the grounding element for a cocktail dress at the Schermerhorn."

Beauty is Skin Deep Fashion Benefit was held at the French Embassy and raised over $30,000 which benefited The Skin Cancer Foundation. The event featured a fully-loaded fashion show of seventeen designers, which was hosted by Miss Sinergy and emceed by WTTG news anchor, Will Thomas with help from Miss Synergy 2011 Megan McConville.
Models worked the runway to the music of DJ Raad with stylings by Alexa Winner and covered all fashion sectors including elaborate evening wear, swim suits, ready to wear and menswear. Featured designers included lead designer Maggie Norris for Maggie Norris Couture along with Stephen Mikhail, Daniella Kallmeyer, Malan Breton, Vincent Licari, Tsyndyma, La Casa Hermosa by Robin Fleming, Elizabeth St. John, Dar De Dar by Tala Raasi, Union of Angels by Cynthia Bapst, Se Sens Serene by Saureen Naik, Timo Weiland, Gemma Kahng, Rolando Santana, House of Berardi by Alexander Berardi, Alex Teih and Digitalebas by Sofia Samrad.
